2023 South Australian Wine Industry Snapshot
The annual South Australian Wine Industry Snapshot is a collaboration between Bentleys SA and the South Australian Wine Industry Association (SAWIA), designed to provide an overview of the South Australian wine industry each year, covering positive impacts, negative impacts, business sentiment, business/staff wellbeing, innovation and evolution.
As the year comes to a close, the seventh annual Wine Industry Snapshot holds a positive yet pragmatic perspective on what is possible for the years ahead, based on industry insights and trends from 2023.
The report analyses the results of a recent industry survey of 111 participants across the South Australian wine industry, representing various business sizes and wine regions. It is intended to compliment – not replace – other industry reports.
“The purpose of this report is to not only highlight trends and sentiment, but to establish a pathway to enable informed decision-making,” says Bentleys SA Partner, Tim Siebert.
“The report acknowledges the industry difficulties highlighted by the survey, many of which mirror those from last year, including continuing oversupply, unprecedented low business confidence, human resources challenges, mental health concerns and financial issues.”
But looking at the silver lining, the survey and subsequent report unearths industry opportunities with the most significant potential.
