About the business:

Sue Tivey is the co-owner of Local Country Care, which provides quality local disability support services in Mitchell Shire, Victoria. With a career dedicated to supporting people with disabilities in country Victoria, Sue recognised a need for quality local services. Just over 12 months ago, she started Local Country Care to fulfil this need and serve the community.

Initial challenge

Encouraged by clients and their families, Sue transitioned from being an employee to a small business owner, a shift that brought significant responsibilities and challenges. She found the process overwhelming and needed assistance to set up her business for success.

Our solution

Caroline Johnston, Director at McLean Delmo Bentleys Woodend office, guided Sue through the process of establishing her new business. This involved:

  • Dissolving a partnership
  • Setting up a company
  • Managing data integration to new accounting software solution
  • Setting up and assisting with BAS Statements
  • Completing tax returns

Results

Caroline and her team successfully helped Sue set up her business correctly, guiding her through the compliance and administrative tasks required of a business owner. This support has alleviated a significant amount of stress for Sue, providing her with the knowledge to run her business effectively. Now, Sue can focus on her passion—helping clients—while confidently managing her business.

Thanks to Caroline and the team, I can get back to the work I love, assisting people with disabilities to lead their best lives. We have achieved so much in the past year and have Caroline and the team to thank for their help and support along the way.
