IASB Climate Guidance For Financial Statement Preparers
The International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) are expected to release their illustrative examples on Disclosures about Uncertainties in the Financial Statements at any time (not yet available at the time of publishing 21 November 2025).
These examples are for all entities to consider how the current climate discussions may affect their assumptions, judgements and estimates at each reporting period and associated disclosures regardless of whether or not you are affected by the mandatory climate reporting in Australia.
The near-final draft of these examples released in July 2025 include six examples covering a range of topics such as general assumptions, credit risk, decommissioning and restoration provisions and disaggregated information.
The examples will be incorporated into the relevant standard and will be available on the IASB website and the AASB website in due course.
