Simon is a highly sought-after taxation expert. He is a Fellow if the Tax Institute, a thought leader in his field and the trusted taxation advisor to many iconic South Australian organisations.

Simon’s expertise was recognised in September 2024, when he was bestowed the Tax Service Award for South Australia by the Tax Institute  – Australia’s leading tax community and educator in tax providing the best resources and professional development.

This award acknowledges Simon’s outstanding contributions to the local tax community. With recipients nominated by State Councils, The Tax Institute Community Achievement Awards recognise the best in the industry, and those who, for years, have contributed to the industry community with passion, integrity and loyalty.

Simon leads the Bentleys SA/NT tax advisory team and is Chair of the national Bentleys specialist tax group. Simon is an accomplished taxation specialist and has authored and presented numerous technical papers for the Tax Institute.

His specialist knowledge includes property and M&A tax strategy and international taxation advisory.

Simon pools his experience from 25 years of working with a ‘Big 4’, Bentleys Canberra and the Australian Taxation Office.

Simon provides specialist taxation advice on a broad range of taxes including international taxation, tax consolidation, eligible R&D expenditure, debt/equity structuring, thin capitalisation, transfer pricing, tax effective repatriation of profits, withholding tax, foreign exchange rules and executive tax planning.
