Dean Hemmingsen is a Director (Accounting) at Knight Group in Western Australia.

Dean has been fascinated by the realms of business, accounting, and finance since his youth, thanks to his family’s small business. During school holidays, he would eagerly engage with the finance director, absorbing knowledge and understanding the intricacies of the industry.

Drawn to the professional services sector for its potential to expose him to diverse businesses and accelerate his learning curve, Dean pursued both Commerce and Law degrees, which further cultivated his interest in taxation.

Following an adventurous stint as a ski instructor on a working holiday, Dean took his talents to the UK, where he gained valuable experience working with esteemed companies like Deloitte and Diageo before returning to Perth in 2010.

Dean’s international exposure and professional qualifications in Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom have nurtured a keen interest in cross-border issues.

His client base covers a broad spectrum of industries, but Dean’s specialised expertise lies in property taxation, property ownership structures, and technology.

In his downtime, Dean prioritises his family and spends most of his free time with his three sons, actively participating in sports such as managing football teams and umpiring t-ball games. He finds immense joy in fostering a community spirit and connecting with fellow parents through these experiences. Cycling also holds a special place in Dean’s life, and he can often be found cycling to work during the week or joining a suburban peloton on early weekend mornings.
