Chris Guy

Chris Guy is Head of General Insurance with Bentleys Insurance Services at Bentleys Victoria.

He works primarily with SME owners and professional services firms, providing specialist broking advice across Professional Indemnity, Cyber and Business Insurance.

Chris focuses on established businesses that treat insurance as a foundational pillar of their risk management programme rather than an afterthought, and who value direct access to a trusted adviser over the long term.

Chris has spent over two decades in financial services holding active qualifications across financial planning, mortgage broking and general insurance, having founded Avant-garde Financial Services in 2005 and built the firm through to Yarra Lane Group prior to joining Bentleys Victoria.

He is a member of the National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA), the Financial Advice Association of Australia (FAAA) and the Mortgage and Finance Association of Australia (MFAA).

He guided a manufacturing client through a fire loss compounded by an asbestos-sheet roof in a residential area, managing the claim over 1,117 days to a total settlement of $1,255,779. Nine years on, that business remains operational and more profitable than ever.

Beyond his core focus areas, Chris also arranges insurance solutions across Public Liability, Management Liability, Investment Managers, Contract Works, Motor Fleet and Industrial Special Risks.

His dual professional heritage, having grown up alongside his father’s blue-collar client base while developing his own deep expertise in financial services, means he is equally at home advising a trades business on its general property as he is structuring a complex professional indemnity program for a funds management firm.
