It’s official, the Archer is back in 2023!
Bentleys is proud to be back as major sponsor of Rocky Amateurs- Home of The Archer. Dubbed the richest horse race in regional Queensland- the stakes have seen a spectacular increase with the prize money jumping to a staggering $750,000!
Rocky Amateurs was formed in 1921 when a group of 60 gentlemen interested in horse racing gathered at Leichhardt Hotel in Rockhampton with the idea to start an amateur racing club. The Archer got its name from Mount Archer in Rockhampton and the concept is based off The Everest race in Sydney. In 2021, Rocky Amateurs celebrated their centenary.
Bentleys Queensland has been proudly supporting regional business for more than 70 years. Founded in 1948, Bentleys founders hailed from Rockhampton and Mackay, bringing with them a key understanding of regional business. Today, Bentleys Queensland has specialist Agribusiness advisors and 2020 opened an office in Emerald. We understand the complexities of Agribusiness because of our key industry experience and our heritage. Bentleys is proud to support Rocky Amateurs- Home of The Archer!
