The Australian Federal Government has issued another update to the JobKeeper scheme, which relates to any additional employees who qualify for the current scheme from 3 August to 28 September 2020.

If you have any staff member who:

  1. was employed on a full time or part time basis as at 1 July 2020, and was hired after 1 March 2020, or
  2. is a long term casual staff member, who was employed for 12 months as at 1 July 2020…

…then you must provide them with nomination forms by Monday 24 August 2020 and ensure they are paid any JobKeeper catch-up amounts by Monday 31 August 2020.

The JobKeeper amount is two (2) fortnight’s worth. You need to assess what you paid to each eligible employee in the 3 to 16 August 2020 period, and the 17 to 30 August 2020 period to ensure they are paid a minimum of $1,500 for each fortnight.
