Damien Lau

Damien is a Director of Corporate Recovery with specialist experience working with businesses of various sizes. He has been an integral member of numerous corporate and personal engagements, including Investigative Accountant Reviews, Receiverships, Voluntary Administrations, Liquidations and Bankruptcies. Damien works across a variety of industries including agribusiness, retail, commercial and SME’s.

Prior to joining Bentleys, Damien undertook a secondment opportunity in the asset management area of a major Australian bank. During this process Damien’s primary responsibilities included developing strategies for debt recovery in large loan book portfolios.

As a result of his collective experience Damien has the ability to deliver innovative and results driven solutions for clients. He has a high level of business expertise and operational knowledge that ensures that the advice delivered is achievable.

• Appointed as a result of Government sanctions applied on provider | Analysed complicated organisation structure to conduct cash-flow and balance  sheet tests of solvency | Despite discovery of incomplete financial records, lack of internal accounting procedures, unrecoverable loans to related parties and  special arrangements with creditors – an accurate calculation of recoverable net assets was achieved.
