Profile

Bill a Director in the Corporate Recovery Division of Bentleys and is a well respected insolvency and reconstruction practitioner with over thirty years industry experience. His tenure as a partner with Bentleys commenced in 1987 and he has been involved in well over 1000 liquidations and hundreds of receiverships – including several landmark assignments and appointments.

With professional credentials as a Liquidator and Bankruptcy Trustee, Bill has diverse experience across many sectors – including agribusiness and rural; property and construction; funds management and financial services; and gaming and hospitality.

His practical and results focussed approach, coupled with his extensive expertise, ensures that outcomes are achieved efficiently and effectively.

In addition to formal appointments, Bill also provides advice in the areas of strategic planning, turnaround strategies, financial analysis and business investigations. He has had a great deal of success assisting small to medium-sized companies to turnaround from near bankruptcy to profitable business.

Bill is proactive in the development and advocacy of the insolvency industry in Australia. He is a regular contributor to professional development industry wide and is the former National Board Vice President and Queensland Chairman for the Insolvency Practitioners Association of Australia.

As joint Liquidator of one of the largest insolvency files in recent Queensland corporate history, Bill has delivered a range of outcomes including the extraction to date of approximately $140M from the collapsed finance group.

  • Scheme Administrator: $80 million+ Scheme Wind-up.

Despite a complex array of legal issues and complications brought about with the global financial crisis, Bill has - and continues to - make significant progress to settle the extensive loan book of this fund. More than $8 million to date has been recovered for investors of this fund.

  • Receiverships: On behalf of mortgagees, banks and financiers.

Bill has worked on behalf of secured and unsecured creditors across the eastern seaboard in a diverse range of industries to deliver financial outcomes and returns.
