Heath is a Business Advisory Partner in Brisbane. He has national and international consulting, middle-market, institutional advisory and corporate finance experience - including in the areas of business strategy, diagnostics, risk analysis, forecasting, value creation and industry benchmarking and advisory.

Heath’s background is underpinned by his specialist experience in industry sectors including health and aged care, family-owned businesses, government, community organisations, agribusiness, biotechnology and manufacturing.

He has worked closely with businesses at all levels – from start-up ventures to large public sector entities.  He looks after clients both locally and internationally and has been the lead advisor to organisations of every scale – from ABN AMRO and GlaxoSmithKline to smaller family owned operations.  He has also been a key strategic lead to business owners, boards and councils undertaking multi-million dollar projects and funding initiatives.

 In the health and ageing sector, Heath is the head of the Bentleys National Health and Ageing Pillar and is the team leader across major aged care projects for the firm, including the annual Bentleys National Aged Care Survey and Government funding program reviews and assessments.  His close involvement with Australia’s health and ageing sector has earned him a reputation as a trusted advisor to a wide range of private and not-for-profit organisations, capital funders and policy makers. His insight is regularly sought for industry commentary, publications and presentations.

In the SME and family business space, Heath has a keen interest in commercialisation and private equity investment. He has worked with a number of established and fast-growing businesses in the capacity of business mentor, outsourced CFO, and as expert counsel to boards and family councils.

Heath also leads the firm’s Technology and Innovation division through which clients are provided with advice and expertise around innovative cloud solutions to improve business efficiency and bottom line performance, process improvements and business intelligence reporting for strategic decision making.
 
 
Major Projects:
  • Project leader for the Bentleys National Aged Care Survey.
  • Key advisor to the Commonwealth Government regarding financial viability for the residential aged care industry across Australia (annually reviewing over $1.2B of capital spend, $150M of Zero Real Interest Loans and $50m+ capital grants).
  • Key contributor to Industry Round tables constituted by the Government to assist with further developing policy.
  • Independent Financial Expert - Specified Care and Services Reference Group (advising the Dept. of Social Services).
  • Lead advisor for organisational capacity review of community sector and primary healthcare entities.
  • Advisor to charitable organisations regarding their governance, sustainability and long term financial viability. 
  • External advisor to government corporations on probity, procurement, tender management and assessment processes.
  • Advisory board member to large family businesses and small-to-medium enterprises, with a particular focus on value creation and capital funding growth strategies. 
  • Coach / mentor to start up enterprises, with specific advisory focus on commercialisation, early stage investment and R+D.
  • Outsourced ‘CFO’ to large private families with multiple business operations.
  • Provision of family office services to assist with intergenerational wealth and wisdom transfer, and support diverse family business interests
