Ben Cameron has been with Bentleys since 1991, and is the Brisbane firm's Managing Partner. Over his career, Ben has been a driving force behind Bentleys’ growth in Queensland.

Ben is a respected, connected industry expert.  He is a trusted advisor and business confidant to some of Queensland’s most successful family businesses.

Ben’s client list crosses multiple sectors, including family business, corporate organisations, property companies, the finance sector, manufacturers and professional services. He is passionate about his clients’ businesses and is committed to ensuring that they are successful and sustainable.

In addition, Ben heads up the firm’s specialist Agricultural and Regional Businesses specialist team. The team work with a mix of agribusiness clients, financiers and stakeholders – including corporate and family-owned industry participants operating in the beef (including feedlotting), grain, horticulture, cotton and other primary production industries. Ben also works closely with other rural industry operators – such as stock agents and saleyard operators.

As a thought leader to the rural industry, Ben has unique industry experience – including:
  • Lead advisor to the joint venture partnership of Bentleys’ client, Acton Land & Cattle Company, with Australian Country Choice. This JV has created one of Australia’s largest vertically integrated beef supply chains.
  • Chief analyst for the most recent Queensland Rural Debt Survey on behalf of QRAA.  The analysis revealed significant debt and production disparities that have highlighted major viability issues in the future for rural industries.
Ben’s insight and expertise is often sought via various industry channels and he regularly presents and provides commentary on the factors affecting financial performance in the rural sector.

Ben also works closely with the corporate sector – including business reviews and asset realisation assignments on behalf of financiers in order to deliver optimum outcomes for clients.  This has involved the development of IMs and facilitating sales.

Major Projects
  • Lead advisor – restructure, refinance and partial sale of one of Queensland’s largest cattle companies. Ben led a multi-disciplinary team to effect a total restructure, re-evaluation and re-finance of the company, including the introduction of new third party capital investment.
  • Chief analyst and presenter of the Rural Debt Survey – undertaken by Bentleys on behalf of QRAA.  This survey analysed the financial health of more than 15,000 borrowers across Queensland and measured the financial sustainability and viability of rural industries.
  • Lead advisor to a $60M grain terminal export facility.  In addition to providing professional business and financial advice, Ben has also provided advisory including:
