Austin has experience working with a wide variety of local, national and multinational clients in a variety of industries including education, aged care, manufacturing, mining, financial services, property development, government, listed companies, health  and the not-for-profit sector.

In the health and aged care sector in particular, his clients have included Horizon Foundation, Accoras, Wesley Mission (Sydney), Youth and Family Services Logan Inc, and a wide range of residential aged care businesses such as Hammondcare (Sydney), Bundaleer Lodge (Ipswich), Berlasco Court and Sisters of St. Paul de Chartres Residential Aged Care (Brisbane), and Good Shepherd Lodge (Mackay).

Austin prides himself on being able to make the most technical and difficult aspects of the financial reporting process accessible for his clients by taking a common-sense, consultative approach. Apart from compliance work, Austin is also skilled at advising on strategic and regulatory considerations relevant to entities, specifically not-for-profits. He has supplemented his experience in the not-for-profit sector with volunteer work for organisations such as Link-Up (Queensland) Aboriginal Corporation, BlakDance and HammondCare (Sydney).

Austin’s professional skills – in auditing, management accounting and financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, technical accounting advice, designing and implementing internal controls and business risk assessment – have been further enhanced through his involvement in the training and development of new professionals.

He is an active contributor of training materials to Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ), and has run tutorials and seminars for undergraduate accounting students at Queensland University of Technology and for staff at Bentleys. Austin is also a regular speaker at CAANZ training conferences and webinars.
